Welcome Boyd Families and Friends!

Hello, my name is Kristina Wellendorf and I teach in the Intermediate Alternate Curriculum Program. I teach students in grades 3, 4, and 5 who have different learning styles and abilities.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Creighton University, and continued my graduate studies at University of Nebraska at Omaha. I taught sixth grade at Indian Hills Elementary School until a position in the special education classroom became available. It then became necessary to relocate the special education program to Boyd Elementary. After 6 years of teaching, I took time to stay home and raise a family. Sixteen years later, I returned to Omaha Public Schools and took a position as an intermediate Alternate Curriculum Program teacher at Boyd Elementary.

My husband Doug and I have been married for over 25 years and have three children. Elizabeth is a registered nurse and works in the ICU, our son Andrew is graduating with a business administration degree from KU, and Annamarie is currently in school to become a mortician. I have seven siblings who all live in Omaha. We get together as often as possible with cousins to enjoy family time. We like to play games indoors and out, eat, and spend time around the bonfire talking and telling stories.

Family is very important to me and I appreciate families entrusting their children to my care. These children teach me more than you could have ever imagine. I am grateful for the opportunity to work as their educator, and connect with their families and caregivers. Boyd is about family and I feel blessed beyond measure to be a part of it.
